What is Receiving Intelligence?
Receiving Intelligence is Fantasy Mate's live receiving evaluation system. It monitors how a player's receiving profile evolves throughout the current NFL regular season.
How is Receiving Intelligence different from Historical Intelligence?
Historical Intelligence evaluates completed regular seasons. Receiving Intelligence evaluates the current season as it unfolds. The two systems answer different questions and should be viewed as complementary rather than interchangeable.
Why can two players have similar Team Scores?
Team Score is a team-relative measurement. It describes each player's importance within his own team's receiving ecosystem before league-wide comparisons are made. Multiple players can therefore achieve similarly high Team Scores while playing in very different offences.
Why is my player's OTI positive but the Overall Score has barely changed?
OTI measures direction, not current level. A player's profile may be improving steadily without yet producing a large change in the Overall Score.
Can a player's Overall Score stay high while OTI is negative?
Yes. An established player may still have an excellent current profile even though recent trends indicate gradual decline. Overall Score and OTI measure different aspects of performance.
Why is Reliability important?
Reliability indicates how much confidence should be placed in the current profile. It reflects the strength of the available evidence, not the player's talent.
Does Missing Alpha change a player's Receiving Intelligence score?
No. Missing Alpha is contextual information only. It helps explain the environment in which a profile developed but does not alter any Receiving Intelligence scores or trends.
Does Availability affect the analytical evaluation?
No. Availability provides participation context only. Receiving Intelligence continues to evaluate football performance independently.
Is Rest of Season Projection a prediction?
No. It is an analytical projection based on the player's current profile. It should be interpreted as a possible outcome rather than a guarantee.
Why don't you publish the formulas?
Fantasy Mate explains what each analytical concept measures and how it should be interpreted. The mathematical implementation, weighting systems and proprietary models remain confidential.
Should I look at one indicator in isolation?
No. Receiving Intelligence is designed as an integrated profile. The best approach is to review the Current Profile first, then OTI, Baseline, Reliability, Projection and finally Team Context and Availability.
How often is Receiving Intelligence updated?
Receiving Intelligence is updated throughout the NFL regular season as new games provide additional information. The final update is produced after Week 18; postseason games are excluded.
