Fantasy Mate is not a single ranking or prediction model. It is a collection of complementary analytical systems, each designed to answer a different question about a player.
Some systems evaluate football performance. Others estimate likely future outcomes. Others track dynasty market behaviour.
Although these systems often describe the same player, they are intentionally kept separate because they measure different aspects of fantasy football.
Understanding which system answers your question is the first step towards interpreting Fantasy Mate correctly.
The Three Pillars
Fantasy Mate currently organises its analytics around three complementary pillars:
- Evaluation
- Projection
- Market Intelligence
Each pillar answers a different type of question.
Evaluation
Evaluation systems measure football performance. Some evaluate completed seasons, while others monitor player development during the current NFL regular season.
Current evaluation systems include:
- Historical Intelligence
- Receiving Intelligence
Historical Intelligence evaluates completed seasons through position-relative scores, season comparisons and long-term performance context. Its research views currently include Rankings, Breakouts, Bouncebacks and Declines.
Receiving Intelligence monitors current-season role, usage, efficiency, production and weekly direction for pass catchers.
Rushing Intelligence provides current-season running back evaluation. Passing Intelligence remains under research.
How strong was this completed season? How is this player's role changing? Is this player's profile improving or declining?
Projection
Projection systems estimate likely future outcomes based on the information currently available.
Unlike evaluation systems, projections do not describe only what has already happened. They estimate what may happen if current conditions continue.
Current projection systems include:
- Rookie Models
- Season Projection within Receiving Intelligence
Rookie Models estimate prospect outcomes using position-specific historical models. Season Projection extends a player's current pace across the remainder of the season and should be interpreted as a scenario, not a guarantee.
Future projection systems may be introduced as new methodologies are researched and validated.
What can reasonably be expected from this rookie? What could this player's season look like if his current pace continues?
Market Intelligence
Market Intelligence evaluates dynasty market behaviour independently from football performance.
Football production and market valuation often move together, but they do not always move at the same speed or for the same reasons. Age, injuries, depth-chart changes, contracts, expectations and market sentiment can all affect value.
Dynasty Market is the dedicated Fantasy Mate workspace for market analysis. It takes responsibility for market rankings, value movement, peaks, drawdowns and production-value divergence without treating a simple score-to-market comparison as proof that a player is overvalued or undervalued.
FantasyCalc provides market data used by Fantasy Mate. It is a data source, not a separate Fantasy Mate analytical system.
How is the dynasty market changing? How has a player's value evolved over time? Where are production and market direction beginning to diverge?
A strong football evaluation and a falling dynasty value can both be accurate. They describe different parts of the player's situation and may change on different timelines.
Why These Systems Are Separate
A single player can tell several different stories at the same time.
A player may have completed an outstanding season, be improving during the current season, project well for the remainder of the year and still be valued differently by the dynasty market.
These observations are not contradictory. They describe different dimensions of player analysis.
Fantasy Mate intentionally keeps these perspectives separate. Historical Intelligence no longer contains market-comparison views because market analysis belongs in Dynasty Market. This separation allows users to understand each signal independently before combining them into their own conclusions.
